Robert DiPisa will be speaking on the Cannabis Leasing: An Advanced Discussion of Where We Are and Where We Need to Go panel during the ICSC U.S. Law Conference on October 27, 2023.

Though cannabis remains federally illegal under the Controlled Substances Act of 1970, the number of states legalizing, taxing, and regulating cannabis for medical and adult use continues to grow. The legal cannabis industry contributes billions of tax dollars to local and state governments each year and is creating jobs at a pace unmatched by any other industry, supporting more than 425,000 full-time equivalent jobs in the United States. This workshop will identify the unique considerations when negotiating and drafting retail cannabis lease agreements and best practices for attorneys navigating some of the challenges presented by this evolving industry.
