Sarah H. Lavelanet is an associate in the Tax, Trusts & Estates Department and is based in the firm’s Boca Raton office.
EXPERIENCE
Sarah handles general estate planning by drafting revocable trusts, wills, health care directives, and powers of attorney. She also implements more sophisticated wealth transfer planning mechanisms by drafting various other trusts such as ILITs, SLATs, and DAPTs. In addition to estate planning, Sarah also handles asset protection planning and corporate planning for clients with closely held businesses. Finally, Sarah has extensive experience with Florida estate administration (probate).
Prior to becoming an attorney, Sarah worked as a trusts and estates paralegal for approximately 10 years, providing her with in-depth knowledge and significant exposure to these transactional areas of law.
EDUCATION
Sarah received her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from St. Thomas University College of Law, where she was valedictorian of her graduating class and received a total of 14 Book Awards for highest class performance. She served on the Editorial Board of the St. Thomas Law Review, where she was also published. During her final year in law school, Sarah served as a judicial intern for Florida Supreme Court Justice Jorge Labarga.
