Leveraging seventeen years of experience, Member Ryan Jareck plays a leading role in the firm’s most high-profile and complex restructurings, litigations and investigations. Ryan focuses on litigation and advisory work relating to bankruptcy, insolvency and corporate finance.
Experience
A partner in the Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Department, Ryan Jareck represents public and private companies, as well as committees and key creditor groups, asset acquirers and other parties, in a range of high-stakes, complex restructurings including turnarounds, workouts, the formulation and development of out-of-court restructurings, chapter 11 plans and financings. Ryan advises clients across industries, including health care, retail, gaming, hospitality, real estate, construction services, and manufacturing sectors, among others.
Ryan has been widely recognized as a leader in his practice areas. According to Chambers USA, clients seek out Ryan for his “bright, practical and results-oriented” approach and as “someone who gets a deal done.” Ryan has a diverse practice assisting clients in navigating their most difficult and sensitive problems with a measured approach.
Ryan’s significant company-side representations include leading or co-counsel roles in Sam Ash Music, WeWork, RTW Retailwinds (New York & Co.), George Washington Bridge Bus Station Development, Saint Michael’s Medical Center, The Atlantic Club Casino & Hotel, Tropicana Casino and Resort and Zayat Stables. His noteworthy committee and creditor-side matters include Angelica Corporation, Revel AC, Cinram Group and Monitor Company Group Limited. Ryan also represented the Ad Hoc Committee of Equity Holders in Synergy Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Additionally, Ryan has developed a significant litigation practice representing clients in high-stakes restructuring and insolvency disputes, bankruptcy-related investigations, and litigation involving breaches of fiduciary duty, fraudulent transfers, preferences, equitable subordination, alter ego, and veil piercing. Recent matters include representing the independent director in Wheel Pros and special committee in View, Inc. in the investigation and analysis of claims and causes of action against directors and officers, among other targets. Ryan also has experience in representing chapter 11 trustees, litigation trustees and boards prosecuting litigation trust claims post-plan confirmation, and investigating and prosecuting liability management transactions.
Networks & Affiliations
Dedicated to the practice of law, Ryan is active in numerous industry organizations, including the American Bankruptcy Institute, American Bar Association and New Jersey State Bar Association, Bankruptcy Section. Ryan is also a member of the Board of the New Jersey Bankruptcy Lawyers Foundation, a privately funded, statewide, nonprofit organization created to raise funds from the bankruptcy bar to assist debtors and other financially distressed individuals.

Respected for his high caliber representation of debtors, creditors, committees, trustees and lenders in chapter 11 proceedings, Ryan has received a Chambers USA band ranking every year since 2014. He is recognized by IFLR1000 as a Highly Regarded practitioner for his restructuring and insolvency practice, has been included on the New Jersey Rising Stars list and was previously listed as a 2017 New Jersey Law Journal “New Leaders of the Bar”.
