Yasi Mahdi advises clients across a range of real estate law matters.
EXPERIENCE
Yasi advises clients in real estate leasing, acquisitions, dispositions and financings involving properties across asset types. Her clients include a broad spectrum of industry operators including real estate developers, property owners and managers, members of the self-storage industry, investors, and established retailers.
Representative Matters
A selection of Yasi’s recent experience includes:
- Representing Vitamin Shoppe, as tenant, on leases for its national retail locations.
- Representing a leading provider of self-storage across the United States and Canada in connection with acquisitions and financings.
- Represented Sentinel Real Estate Corporation in connection with the $172 million sale of twenty-four NYC multi-family properties to Ellis Equities, LLC.
- Represented a notable real estate investment firm, as borrower, in connection with a re-financing from Citigroup Global Markets. Represented this client, as landlord, in connection with New York and New Jersey leases.
- Representing a closely held company in connection with debt and equity financing for self-storage developments.
- Representing landlords in leasing matters involving tenants operating within the cannabis industry.
- Assisted with the representation of Major League Baseball (MLB) in connection with all zoning-related matters and entitlements connected to the relocation of its MLB Network and production facility from Secaucus, NJ, to Elmwood Park, NJ.

EDUCATION
Yasi earned her B.A. in Journalism and Middle Eastern Islamic Studies, magna cum laude, from New York University. She later earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law where she received the Presidential Academic Scholarship and served as the President and Co-Founder of the Real Estate Law Society. She also worked as a Student Attorney in the Civil Litigation and Practice Clinic assisting clients with a variety of housing and landlord-tenant matters. Prior to joining the firm, Yasi served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Lisa M. Adubato of the Superior Court of New Jersey in 2021 and worked as a Summer Associate at Cole Schotz in 2022. Yasi is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
