Cole Schotz Announces Six New Members
Cole Schotz P.C. is pleased to announce that six attorneys have been elevated to members across the firm’s New Jersey, Maryland and Florida offices, effective January 1, 2024. The new members are Jonathan Goodelman, Perri L. Hom, H.C. Jones, Matteo Percontino, Arnold P. Picinich and Geoffrey N. Weinstein.
Jonathan Goodelman is a member in the Real Estate and Real Estate Special Opportunities departments, based in the firm’s New Jersey office. Jonathan provides legal advice to developers, real estate equity and opportunity funds, real estate investment trusts, investors, owners and tenants in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions. He is experienced with all state and federal land use regulations as well as liquor license law in the state of New Jersey and has represented a variety of clients with respect to their zoning and liquor license issues. Jonathan received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law.
Perri L. Hom is a member in the Environmental department, based in the firm’s New Jersey office. Perri represents a variety of clients, ranging from major Fortune 500 companies to individuals, in environmental matters, cost recovery actions and regulatory compliance and enforcement matters. She has experience handling complex issues concerning federal and state laws, including the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), New Jersey’s Spill Act and New York’s hazardous substances laws and regulations. Perri received her J.D. from Pace University School of Law.
H.C. Jones is a member in the Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring department, based in the firm’s Maryland office. H.C. represents debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, litigation trusts, federal and state receivers and other interested parties in connection with chapter 11 and chapter 7 cases, out-of-court restructurings and sales. He has experience handling large-scale preference portfolios and other adversary proceedings, including breach of fiduciary duty and fraudulent transfer claims. H.C. received his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
Matteo Percontino is a member in the Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring department, based in the firm’s New Jersey office. Matteo represents debtors, landlords, secured and unsecured creditors in chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy cases and Assignment for the Benefit of Creditor proceedings. He has experience guiding debtors through chapter 11 reorganizations and chapter 7 liquidations, asserting and protecting creditor claims, selling debtor assets, protecting executory contract interests and asserting or lifting the automatic stay. Matteo received his J.D. from New York Law School.
Arnold P. Picinich is a member in the Litigation, Employment and Construction departments, based in the firm’s New Jersey office. Arnold has appeared in state and federal courts in various jurisdictions representing both large and small businesses in a variety of disputes. His litigation practice includes complex commercial litigation, employment disputes, estate litigation, lender liability, real estate litigation and shareholder oppression/dissolution matters. In addition to his litigation practice, Arnold routinely counsels clients on employment law and compliance matters, and assists clients with the administration of employment policies and handbooks. Arnold received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law with magna cum laude honors.
Geoffrey Weinstein is a member in the Tax, Trusts & Estates Department based in the firm’s Boca Raton, Florida office. Geoff’s practice includes estate planning, tax controversy and deferred compensation with a focus on New Jersey, New York State and New York City tax litigation and controversy. Over the past 20 years, he has handled hundreds of personal income tax, sales and use tax and corporate tax audits from examination though administrative appeals and in state and federal courts. Geoff leads the firm’s Tax Residency Practice and is recognized as one of the leading practitioners in this area with a reputation of bringing about practical solutions to complex problems. He is often quoted in the national publications, is a frequent lecturer at the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and co-authored the firm’s publication ‘On the Road to Florida’.
