Cole Schotz Adds Veteran Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Attorney Daniel J. Harris

Cole Schotz P.C. is pleased to announce that veteran bankruptcy lawyer Daniel J. Harris has joined the firm’s Hackensack office as a member. Mr. Harris focuses his practice on corporate bankruptcy, creditors’ rights and distressed situations.

“Daniel is a highly skilled attorney who brings a wealth of experience to the firm,” said Michael Sirota, co-managing shareholder and co-chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Department. “He advises a wide range of parties in complex Chapter 11 cases and will be a significant resource in helping our clients achieve their business goals.”

Mr. Harris represents debtors, creditors’ committees, noteholders, trade creditors, strategic investors and other parties of interest in all aspects of Chapter 11 cases. He has represented public and private companies in Chapter 11 cases in a variety of industries, including healthcare, real estate, manufacturing, technology, media, energy and others. He also represents liquidating trustees and other stakeholders in connection with claims reconciliation processes and the pursuit of strategic litigation. Beyond his restructuring practice, Mr. Harris represents investors and strategic parties in connection with general business matters, entrepreneurial endeavors, claims trading and investment transactions.

Mr. Harris joins the firm from Sills Cummis & Gross, P.C. Earlier in his career, he worked at Morrison & Foerster LLP, Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP and as a law clerk for Chief Judge Martin Glenn of U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Mr. Harris received his J.D. cum laude from Pace University School of Law and his B.A. in international affairs cum laude from The George Washington University.
