Cole Schotz Expands Texas IP, Litigation Teams with Two New Members
Cole Schotz P.C. is pleased to announce that veteran intellectual property lawyers Rajkumar Vinnakota and Sean N. Hsu have joined the firm’s Dallas office as members. Mr. Vinnakota and Mr. Hsu arrive from Janik Vinnakota LLP.
“We are thrilled to welcome Rajkumar and Sean to our growing national Intellectual Property Department,” said Gary Sorden, member in the firm’s Dallas office. “Their breadth of experience with complex commercial litigation and intellectual property matters will further enhance our capabilities and help us better serve our clients both in Dallas and nationally.”
Mr. Vinnakota focuses on complex commercial litigation in both federal and state courts, as well as actions involving various administrative agencies, advising on intellectual property, trade secrets, energy, business torts, partnership disputes and insurance. His intellectual property practice focuses on managing, licensing, and enforcing patent portfolios, and representing and defending domestic and international clients as well as research institutes.
“We were drawn by Cole Schotz’s commitment to serving the Texas market and the opportunity to be part of a growing office,” Mr. Vinnakota said. “We are excited to join the team.”
Mr. Hsu focuses on intellectual property licensing, enforcement, and commercial disputes. With training in electrical engineering, he counsels clients on their intellectual property and commercial needs in various industries, including semiconductors, telecommunications, biomedical devices, software and embedded systems. He is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and has represented clients in inter partes reviews before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board during district court litigation.

The arrival of Mr. Vinnakota and Mr. Hsu to Cole Schotz’s Intellectual Property Department follows the addition of Vishal Patel, who joined the group in January, and a four-person litigation and intellectual property team, which arrived in 2019.
Mr. Vinnakota is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law and received his bachelor’s degree cum laude from Texas A&M University. Mr. Hsu is a graduate of Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law and earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
