Cole Schotz Announces Recipient of 2024 Diversity Scholarship
Cole Schotz P.C. is pleased to announce Olivia H. Chiu as the recipient of the firm’s 2024 Diversity Scholarship.
Each year, Cole Schotz recognizes the achievements of a rising second-year, full-time law student by presenting a one-time scholarship of $10,000. Candidates are considered based on their demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity in the legal profession, academic achievement, and involvement in community service.
Ms. Chiu is currently a law student at Columbia Law School. She most recently completed a legal internship at Dejusticia, a human rights non-profit legal organization in Bogotá, Colombia, and participated in Columbia Law’s Parole Advocacy Project, where she collaborated with attorneys to help incarcerated clients prepare for their parole hearings. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Chiu worked as a cyber risk advisory consultant at Deloitte Consulting.
“We are honored to extend this scholarship to Ms. Chiu in recognition of her commitment to promoting social justice throughout her work and academics,” said James A. Lewis, V, Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer at Cole Schotz. “We particularly noted her commitment to advancing social justice through her work advancing human rights and through the Columbia Law Parole Advocacy Project.”
Ms. Chiu graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University with bachelors degrees in government and Spanish. She also received the inaugural Susan Tarlov Spirit Award from Georgetown’s Center for Social Justice Research.
