Sasha Pezenik is an associate in the firm’s Tax, Trust & Estates Department.
EXPERIENCE
Sasha studied at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where she served as the President and Editor-in-Chief of the Moot Court Board Honor Society and was a Notes and Comments Editor of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel Law Journal.
During her final semester, Sasha worked as a student attorney at the law firm Saundra M. Gumerove & Associates. During this time, she assisted families in Nassau County, Suffolk County, and New York County with Article 17-A work which included applying for and amending guardianships for special needs children and adults on behalf of clients.
Additionally, Sasha worked as a pro bono student attorney in the Federal Income Tax Clinic where she represented clients during Offer in Compromise meetings, Collection Due Process matters, and settlement discussions. She also gained experience drafting U.S. Tax Court petitions and motions and represented a client to the conclusion of her innocent spouse relief claim.
Incredibly active throughout her law school experience, Sasha has also served as a teaching assistant for Professor Robert “Baruch” Bush and a research assistant for Professor Richard K. Neumann.
She earned her J.D., cum laude, with a Citation of Excellence in Federal Tax Clinical Programs and a Pro Bono Gold Award. She earned a B.A., summa cum laude, from Hofstra University Honors College and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
