Cole Schotz Grows IP Group with Arrival of New Department Co-Chair

Hackensack, NJ, March 12, 2018 – Cole Schotz P.C. is expanding its Intellectual Property department with the addition of new member William Stroever in New Jersey. Mr. Stroever has extensive experience helping companies build and protect their brands and other intellectual property assets. He was previously a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig.

“Willie’s immense talents include providing invaluable advice and guidance to businesses by devising creative and effective intellectual property strategies,” said Michael Sirota, co-managing shareholder of Cole Schotz. “He has earned a strong reputation for propelling his clients’ growth and strengthening their businesses and brands. He will add a great deal of depth to our accomplished IP team.”

Mr. Stroever, who will serve as the co-chair of the Intellectual Property department, focuses his practice on trademark protection, brand development, and matters pertaining to copyright, trade secrets and domain name issues. He has represented a wide range of clients including numerous businesses in the areas of consumer and biomedical products. He has particular experience with non-traditional businesses in online marketplaces.

“Taking on a leadership role at a firm like Cole Schotz at this point in my career was an opportunity I could not turn down,” Mr. Stroever said. “I look forward to continuing the growth of our IP group and expanding the services we offer to our clients.”

Mr. Stroever is admitted to the state bars of New Jersey and Massachusetts as well as the U.S. District Courts for the District of New Jersey and the District of Massachusetts. He earned his J.D. from Boston College Law School, and his B.A. from Haverford College. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Carmen Alvarez for the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division.
